Partisans in the Košárek family

“He did sabotage missions, then he brought in his comrades in arms, and one partisan suddenly became twenty-five of them. And they were all up in our loft. So Mum put all the bedding she had around the floor. There was hay for the cattle next door, they stitched up some bed sheets and rummaged around for blankets.”

  • born 3 May 1936 in Vsetín, Czechoslovakia
  • (presumably) from 1943, the family helped the partisan Nikolai Alexandrovich Kuzmin
  • the family also actively supported the 1st Czechoslovak Partisan Brigade of Jan Žižka and the Štramberk partisans
  • acted as a messenger for the partisans
  • worked at a dressmaker’s and at Tesla
  • 1958, married and moved to her husband in Náchod (still lives there as of 2016)
